It's official... Netflix has given us the news we've all been waiting for!
'Mindhunter' proved to be a huge success since it's 2017 premiere, kindly feeding the world's weird obsession with serial killers with an insightful look inside the minds of some of the most notorious killers of our time.
Confirming the news via social media, Netflix let fans know the show will be back in just one month, premiering internationally on August 16th.
Season one explored the mind of Ed Kemper, famous for murdering ten people in the 60's before being imprisoned years later. The show follows FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench on a research project to discover how the minds of serial killers work, who work alongside psychologist Wendy Carr to originate the Behavioural Science Unit.
The first season left fans on a bit of a cliffhanger, with Holden beginning to spiral from the things he's seen while undertaking the project.
Jonathon Groff will be returning as Holden Ford, continuing on from where we left off back in 2017 - and while details are currently slim, Damon Herriman reportedly filmed scenes last summer as Charles Manson (who he coincidentally also plays in Tarantino's upcoming movie 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood').
Director David Fincher revealed in an interview with Billboard that the upcoming season will follow real-life events that occured in 1979-81, saying:
"Next year we're looking at the Atlanta child murders, so we'll have a lot more African-American music which will be nice. The music will evolve. It's intended to support what's happening with the show and for the show to evolve radically between seasons."
The second season will be available on Netflix globally from August 16th. Recap with the season one trailer below!
