You Can Now Send Back Your Unwanted Bounty Celebrations In New 'Return Scheme' | TOTUM
Eric BlairNovember 10th

Good news for all you Bounty haters out there - this year you’ll be able to trade in your unwanted Celebrations Bounties!

Although they may indeed be the ‘taste of Paradise’ for some - there’s no getting away from the fact that for a LOT of people, Bounty really isn’t the one.

Even their maker, Mars, admits the coconut bar is very much the ‘runt of the Celebrations litter’, but this year rather than throwing them away  come January, you’ll be able to swap them!

After a recent survey found 52% of people leave Bounties until last, while 32% - that’s a third of people - admit binning it, the company have teamed up with Co-op, to allow people to trade them in for Maltesers Teasers at selected stores in major cities from January 17.

On top of that, Mars has also launched a Christmas TV ad telling a love story between a Bounty and an equally despised Brussels sprout.

The bar weeps on the sofa after being ignored at a disco, stood up in a restaurant and rejected on dating sites, but is saved by a cheery sprout who reckons that in fact it is the best choc in the box.

Mars Wrigley's Cemre Cudal said: "It's the unlikeliest of couples. But I defy anyone not to fall in love with Bounty after this heart-breaking film.

“And if you still can't bring yourself to love a Bounty this Christmas, we'll take them back as part of our Bounty Return Scheme. Because no Bounty should be left alone in a Celebrations tub.”

Mars added: “No Bounties will be sent to landfill as a result of the returns.”

Last year the makers of Celebrations advent calendars were on the wrong end of public backlash after people discovered what they described as a ‘sick joke’ behind its doors…

People took to social media in -mostly faux - anger after they were forced to tuck into a Bounty bar for four days in a row! Can you imagine.

And for the two years previous to that, the Celebrations calendar caused uproar for putting the much-maligned Bounty behind door number one - which really is some expert trolling.

A spokesperson for Mars said: "We all have our favourites. Bounty might be the last chocolate left in the tub for some people, but for others, two advent Bounty treats in a row get their season off to a great start!

"Don’t worry, there’s something for everyone in the calendar – no peeking on what comes next!”
