A New Spice Girls Movie Is Officially Happening
Yep, you absolutely read that right, a brand new Spice Girls movie is in the works.
Paramount Studios have confirmed that a new animated Spice Girls film is on its way featuring all five members of the group - even Victoria!
According to a report in the Independent, the movie will tell the story of the ladies uniting as superheroes, with all five women lending their voices to their animated counterparts as well as - drum roll - some brand new songs!
The President of Paramount Animation, Mireille Soria said the Spice Girls are ‘very involved’ adding that the band ‘had an idea [they'd] been developing’ as something of a passion project.
The film doesn’t yet have a title, but has been slated for release 2020, a full 13 years after the girls' first move, Spice World, hit cinema screens.
Early reports suggest the project will be produced by Spice Girls' boss Simon Fuller, and written by Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith who did the screenplay for Legally Blonde.
In other Spice Girls news, The famous Union Jack-covered double decker tour bus has been converted into an awesome boutique accommodation absolutely jammed with references to the movie.
As well as pink Union Jack cinema chairs, zebra print carpets and 'Girl Power' neon signs, there’s tons of little touches like a tub of scrunchies and disco balls that’ll get those nostalgia juices flowing.
The listing - which sleeps up to three people is available for a maximum of two nights. It works on a first-come-first-serve basis, so be sure to get in there quick if you don’t want to miss out!
A potential downside is that there are no kitchen facilities (who wants to cook on holiday anyway?) toilet or running water (more of a problem) on the bus. However, don’t worry this isn’t a bucket and well situation - a temporary toilet will be provided just outside.
The host does provide snacks, but for a proper feed you'll have to hit the shops or head down to the local restaurants.
There’s a few important criteria guests must stick to: a '90s dress code', double denim is 'permitted' and Girl Power is 'essential'. The ad also states that selfies in the driver's seat are encouraged and there's a 'Compulsory rendition of 'Goodbye' on check out’ - which all makes perfect sense!
Host Suzanne Godley said: "I adored their music growing up and used to choreograph routines to all my favourite songs! I watched Spice World on repeat and never thought I'd get the chance to go inside the actual Spice Bus - so to get this opportunity and now be able to share with other fans is just a dream come true.
"I've been lucky enough to work with some amazing designers on converting the bus into accommodation with the support of Airbnb, and I can't wait to share it with my fellow fans."
So what are you waiting for? Spice up your life!
