Burger King Has Just Launched Their Very Own Halloumi Burger
It seems like pretty much everyone is fully on-board with the ‘halloumi hype’ nowadays - obviously because it’s so damn delicious!
So, the latest people to climb on board the Halloumi train are Burger King, who - as of today are selling their very own Halloumi Burgers. Happy Monday guys.
The UK launch comes on the back of a successful (of course) trial period in Sweden, which has led to the delightful new veggie burger nbeing rolled out across the UK.
Served on a brioche bun with lettuce, onions, tomatoes and creamy mayo, the halloumi burger can be bought on its own, or as part of a meal and if the mood takes you, you can even double the halloumi patties for a little bit extra.
The Halloumi Burger costs £3.99, with a meal costing £5.99. The double costs £5.49 and the double meal £7.49.
In a statement, Burger King said: "Halloumi lovers across the UK rejoice and mark your calendars - the 8th of July will see Burger King launch the highly-anticipated Halloumi Burger nationwide.
"Made with crispy and delicious halloumi cheese from Cyprus, the Halloumi Burger will have lovers of this Cypriot delicacy filled with excitement."
"With the UK now earmarked as the biggest importer of Halloumi, chowing down on over 2,000 tonnes of the Cypriot delicacy per year, the demand for Halloumi has reached fever pitch and Burger King have listened," the statement went on.
"Bringing halloumi to the masses, Burger King are excited to be amongst the first quick service restaurant to offer halloumi burgers to the highstreets, stations and airports, all at an accessible price!
