Love Island has been taking the UK by storm since its premiere in 2015, each season providing drama, banter and a whole lot of cheeky antics during the summer. It’s been so popular, the show has even been picked up across the globe by our Aussie friends with their very own edition of it.
The format is pretty simple, with a bunch of singletons being thrown into a fancy villa for the summer and left to their devices to find themselves a match – with each formed couple battling it out for the chance to win £50,000. Juicy stuff.
Fancy experiencing the summer of love yourself and finding the Jack to your Dani? We can’t imagine a better way than doing it under the sun with a huge cash incentive – and ITV2 are back on the hunt again for single pringles looking to find their Mr or Mrs Right!
Think you’ve got what it takes to make the perfect islander? According to the official site, producers are on the lookout for “lively singles from across the country” to enjoy their very own “long hot summer of romance”. “"The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island."
Not only that, a new addition to this year’s applications is the request for non-binary and intersexual participants – meaning the show could be going with a little twist this year and opening it up to everyone, rather than the historic straight couple format. You’ve got until 30th April to apply, but there’s some serious competition - with more people applying for the show than Oxford/Cambridge in 2018 to try and find their type on paper!
To apply for the show you’ll need to be over 18, have a valid passport and be free for at least 8 weeks from May ’19. Time to write that notice letter.
If you fancy trying to become the next member of the ‘do bits society’ you’ll also need to submit an epic short video of yourself to make you stand out. For some inpso, check out Laura’s audition vid from last year on her IGTV.
