Exciting times people! Black Mirror is officially returning for its fifth season on June 5th.
The latest series of Charlie Brooker’s futuristic dystopian drama will apparently consist of three new stories and will feature performances from Anthony Mackie, Miley Cyrus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, Damson Idris, Andrew Scott, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport and Ludi Lin, reports Variety.
As you’d expect, it looks like technological advancements will be the main theme of the shows. But as well as the usual focus on technology and the state of social media, this season will take a more in-depth look at artificial intelligence, smart technology and virtual reality.
Miley Cyrus seems to be playing some form of herself - a performer with an army of fans who appears to have undergone a transformation in order to rise to a higher level of fame…
This new installment arrives just six months after Brooker and director David Slade dropped the special, interactive standalone Black Mirror: Bandersnatch at the end of 2018.
Brooker had previously revealed the ‘enormous’ amount of work required on creating 'Bandersnatch’ meant that the remainder of season five had to be delayed.
I’m pretty sure it will have been worth the wait!!
