Primark has opened the doors of its brand spanking new Friends themed cafe.
Located in the Market Street store in central Manchester, the new coffee shop opens today (Wednesday 12th June) and celebrates the 25th anniversary of the legendary long-running sitcom.
The fully themed cafe is selling a whole host of 90s New York inspired drinks and snacks, and if you order a coffee it will of course come served in a classic giant coffee cup while you relax on the iconic Central Perk sofa.
But the fun doesn’t end there! While you enjoy your coffee and cake you can also browse the store's selection of Friends memorabilia including t-shirts and canvas tote bags, all available to buy exclusively at the Market Street store.
However, thankfully not everything is sticking 100% to the 90s theme - the cafe will be sustainable, using ethically sourced coffee beans and compostable cups.
Tim Kelly, Primark's director of new business development, said: “We are hugely excited to be bringing the first branded Central Perk café in fashion retail in the UK to the British high street.
“Customers can relax and have fun there whilst also enjoying our amazing fashion at amazing prices in our Manchester store.”
And if this isn’t enough nostalgia for you, It’s been announced that a new musical or ‘Friendsical’ if you will, is set to start touring the UK this summer, to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary.
Obviously a parody of the hit TV show, Friends, the new extravaganza has been created by writer and director Miranda Larson and will take to the road on a full nationwide tour before enjoying a full season at the Edinburgh Fringe.
According to the British Theatre website, the show opens at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham on July 15th, before heading off to Darlington, Derry, Newcastle, Kingston, Malvern, Blackpool, Chelmsford, Southampton and Croydon.
It will then take up residence at the Edinburgh Fringe, running from August 1st-25th.
Featuring original songs such as ‘(He’s her) Lobster!’, ‘Richard’s Moustache’ and ‘You’re Over Me? When Were You Under Me?’, the synopsis says: "When Ross’ wife leaves him for another woman he fears he will never find love again. But then Rachel runs back into his life… will he end up with his one true love?”
At the moment there’s no suggestion that any of the original cast members from the TV show will be involved, but you never know what could happen - a brief cameo here, a guest appearance there…
Could we be any more excited?!
