Some lighter news to come out of COVID-19. Adobe is temporarily offering its Creative Clouds apps for free to students, including Photoshop and InDesign.

Giving the rapidly changing landscape we currently find ourselves in, organisations and schools have implemented a work/study from home policy.

So to do their bit, Adobe have decided to offer free subscriptions to its Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) apps for students and teachers.

These CC apps could be a welcome gift as many students rely on these them - which are normally installed on university computers - to complete coursework.

To gain free access to the apps, your school or institution has to be an education customer of Adobe.

Usually, student or teacher pricing is £194.88 for the year (or £16.24 monthly). The temporary price freeze will be available until May 31st, 2020.

But access may not be as simple as you might think. To request access, somebody who works for IT at your university or school must fill out this application form.

Once that's done, Adobe will go over each individual request and inform the applicant of their decision to approve the request or not.

The admin can then enable access for students and faculty once your organisation's application has been approved.

It may seem like a lot of effort, but the saving will surely be worth it.
