ITV Is Launching A 'Love Island' For The Older Generation

The new winter Love Island may have just begun, but this isn't the only treat ITV has in store for us this year.

If you've always longed to go on Love Island but feel a little too old for the fellow contestants (who are predominantly in their twenties), you'll be ecstatic to hear that ITV is launching a brand new 'middle-aged' version of the popular dating show.

That's right, following calls for more diversity in Love Island, ITV producers have decided to create a similar show for the older generation, called The Romance Retreat.

Sharing the application details on its website, the broadcaster writes: "ITV1 are looking for vibrant single parents from across the UK who are in search of love, for a brand new dating show!

"This is the ONLY dating show where single parents can search for love, by spending time in a luxury retreat, where all the parents have been nominated by their grown up children."

Speaking on the 'mature' version of Love Island, a source previously said: "Times change and the current generation in their 40s and 50s still care about how they look, are fit and healthy, into fashion and are ready to let their hair down.

"This show will give those who settled down young a second chance at love while they still feel in their prime."

The source went on to add that contestants will 'know their minds' and be 'more adventurous' compared to those we may see on Love Island.

On this year's winter edition of the show, 10 hopeful contestants have entered the South African villa, while Maya Jama has kickstarted her role as the ITV show's new presenter.

Viewers can't get enough of Maya, with many gushing about the presenter on social media.

One wrote: "So basically we are all in agreement Maya Jama has won this Love Island series…"

Another said: "At this point it’s the Maya Jama show."

A third added: "Maya Jama was made to host this show."
