Big news for fans of a cheeseburger - McDonald’s has confirmed it will be introducing the triple cheeseburger to its saver menu.

The announcement comes following a successful (of course) trial where customers in Yorkshire were among the first to try the new burger when it was tested across 60 restaurants in February.

In a statement,McDonald’s said: "Following a successful trial period earlier this year, the Triple Cheeseburger will now officially join the Saver Menu as a permanent addition from Wednesday 2 September."

The new triple pretty much exactly the same as the normal cheeseburger/double cheeseburger but with - you guessed it - an extra burger, and will cost £2.19.

As well as the triple cheeseburger, McDonald's has also brought back the Chicken Legend, Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Carrot Sticks, Hot Apple Pie, Regular Toffee Lattee and Millionaire's Donut.

This comes after just yesterday Deliveroo announced it is launching its own version of the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme

Launching on September 1st and running until the end of October, the Eat IN to Help Out scheme will see £5 knocked off the cost of deliveries in order to support smaller businesses, many of whom are still struggling to bounce back from the economic effects of Covid-19.

Just like the Eat Out to Help Out scheme - which is due to end on  August 31st, Deliveroo’s new offer will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with customers being provided with a different code every week in order to claim the reduction.

On top of that, new customers are also being given 14 days' free delivery throughout September and October - meaning there is the potential for some pretty huge savings to be made!

Speaking about the scheme, Deliveroo founder Will Shu said the company wanted to help protect the most vulnerable businesses during these testing times.

Mr Shu said: "Deliveroo is passionate about supporting local restaurants, who are central to our business and so many high streets across the UK.

"Our restaurant partners play a vital role in our economy, just as they do people's everyday lives, bringing people the food they love

"We know they have been hit hard recently, and we hope Our Eat IN to Help Out scheme can play a part in helping their businesses through this difficult period."
