Purveyors of fine wine, Echo Falls have really pushed the boat out with their latest release, a white wine and rum hybrid.
The new tipple combines Echo Falls white wine with rum and sweet coconut and pineapple flavours and has apparently hit shelves in response to consumer demand for flavoured rum. If you say so guys.
Weighing in at 9% alcohol by volume (ABV), according to The Drinks Business, the new drink is for ‘women aged over 30 who already know and trust the brand’, and ‘more impulsive consumers under 30 who are prepared to pay a premium for new and exciting products’.
David White, marketing director of Accolade Wines, who own Echo Falls, said: “Echo Falls is once again bringing a refreshing and innovative flavour experience to the market, with strong consumer appeal and a new and exciting sales opportunity for the trade ahead of the summer.
"This is a unique product for people who like the idea of wine but prefer a sweeter style and easy drinking experience.”
Priced at a reasonable sounding £6 for a 750ml bottle, I suspect the curiosity will get the better of quite a few people, and to be fair, it actually sounds like it could be a sort of alcoholic Lilt.
This latest release follows hot on the heels of Echo Falls climbing well and truly onboard the ever-growing gin bandwagon with the release of their very own pink gin.
To be fair, their foray into the spirit world actually sounds pretty damn good, matching its signature wine flavour - summer berries.
Distilled for pink gin enthusiasts, it's ‘filled with hints of juniper, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries’ and is already available in stores.
The 70cl bottles will set you back £16, so not too bad at all, and they have an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 37.5 per cent.
