Student Works Out How To Watch Premier League Football For Free This Christmas
Come December, the Premier League games start coming thick and fast.
Although watching those matches is going to be a little different than in previous years, we’ve got a way for you to watch them for absolutely free from the comfort of your own sofa…
By the time Christmas rolls round you’d think we would've had our fill - but what better way to spend Boxing Day than parked in front of the telly with the family, eating leftovers (and chocolates) and watching a full fixture list of Premier League games?
This year, rather than the usual suspects, Amazon Prime Video have secured the broadcast rights to two full rounds of Premier League matches - that’s a full 20 games!
And - as students - you can get a FREE 6 month Amazon Prime trial - that’s right, you’ll be able to watch this absolute feast of festive football for FREE. No money spent, loads of great stuff gained. All you have to do is sign up here.
And that's exactly what Kieran did: "We always like to watch the Premier League on Boxing Day - and even though my dad has Sky, this year that's no good," he told us.
"So when I saw that Amazon Prime Video had all the Boxing Day games - and realised that I could get them all for free with an Amazon Prime student membership - it really was a no-brainer!"
So, what exactly can you expect footy-wise? First up will be the early December midweek games. Prime Video’s Premier League coverage will debut on Tuesday December 3rd, with Crystal Palace v Bournemouth kicking off proceedings at 7:30pm, followed by Burnley against current champions Manchester City from 8:15pm.
The following day, Wednesday December 4th, five matches will kick-off at 7:30pm including the highly-anticipated clash between Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur. On the same evening, as the first half of those fixtures comes to a close, current league-leaders Liverpool will host Everton in the first Merseyside Derby of the season, from 8:15pm.
But, now for the big one. Football fans on Boxing Day can expect over nine hours of back-to-back Premier League football! Prime Video will be broadcasting continuously across four separate kick-off times, including 12:30pm, 3:00pm, 5:30pm and 8:00pm.
Prime Video will show nine Premier League fixtures in total on Boxing Day, including Manchester United v Newcastle (the Steve Bruce derby) and surely the pick of the bunch as Liverpool travel to the King Power Stadium for a top(ish) of the table clash with Leicester (the Brendan Rodgers derby).
Finally, on Friday December 27th, Wolves take on Manchester City at Molineux Stadium as they look to follow up their impressive win at the Etihad with a second victory over Pep’s side.
But the benefits of an Amazon Prime student membership don’t end there, oh no. On top of all the Premier League excitement you’ll get FREE One-Day Delivery on millions of items, will be able to stream thousands of movies and TV shows, plus get access to exclusive student offers.
You’ll get Unlimited One-Day Delivery on millions of eligible items, as well as Same-Day Delivery on a million items to select residential postcodes in the UK - very handy in the run-up to Christmas…
Kieran adds: "If you're a student - and especially one who enjoys Premier League football - you really need to sign up for this!"
